The Re-JUVA-nate Your Health Liver Cleanse Program

An hour-by-hour guide to effective liver cleansing

Gary Young asserts, "You can't have a toxic liver and have good health.  Cleansing the liver should be an everyday process."

From that starting point, he has written the booklet, Re-JUVA-nate Your Health: Optimize Liver Health, in which he states that degenerative diseases, as well as hormonal, blood sugar and cholesterol problems, are the result of a toxic, poorly functioning liver.

The liver is one of the most important and overworked organs in the body, playing a role in detoxifying the body. It

  • filters the blood, processing all food, nutrients, alcohol, drugs and other materials that enter the bloodstream, and letting them pass, breaking them down or storing them;
  • manufactures bile to emulsify fats for digestion;
  • makes and/or breaks down many hormones, including cholesterol, testosterone and estrogens; and
  • regulates blood sugar levels.

The quality of virtually every function and cell of your body depends on your liver.

When the liver is damaged due to excess alcohol consumption, viral hepatitis or poor diet, an excess of toxins can build up in the blood and tissues that can result in degenerative disease and death.

Gary then lists several indicators of "less than optimal liver health", some general facts about the liver, things that put the liver under stress, and a list of conditions that are caused by a stressed liver.  (See the article on symptoms of liver overload for more details.)

The two best parts of this booklet, however, are the liver cleanse programs and the "Recipes for a Healthier Liver".

The Re-JUVA-nate Your Health Liver Cleanse Programs

The Basic Liver Cleanse

Immediately after you awaken: Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a 10 oz glass of purified water (may sweeten with Agave syrup if desired) and drink right down. Then take the following:

Liver Cleanse Protocols:

Because of the differences between people, their specific needs and how their systems respond to supplements and oils, you will need to do some experimentation to find the liver cleanse regimen that is just right for you.

The following links will take you to examples of what some people have done. So, give one a try, tinker with it, tweak it, and see how you do.

Then drink a glass of the Vital Life Juice.

Second hour: Have another 10 oz glass of lemon (see above), adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.  (Do not take the cayenne in a capsule. It will not work the same.)

Third hour: Have another glass of the Vital Life Juice, followed by two scoops of the protein power meal replacement and 1 tablespoon of the liver clearing drink.

Fourth hour: Drink another 10 oz of lemon drink.

Fifth hour — Lunch: For lunch, have one of the salads or soups listed in the Re-JUVA-nate Your Health recipe section, adding a tablespoon of the liver clearing drink to it, and have with another glass of the lemon drink.

Sixth hour: Have another glass of the lemon drink.

Seventh hour: Have a glass of the Vital Life Juice.

Vital Life Juice:

Puree the following to make the Vital Life Juice:

  • 3 oz beet,
  • 1 oz celery,
  • 1 oz carrot,
  • 1/3 oz white radish,
  • 1/8 oz ginger, and
  • 1/3 oz red potato

Eighth hour: Have another two scoops of the protein power meal replacement and a serving of the super antioxidant juice.

Ninth hour: Have another glass of Vital Life Juice.

Tenth hour: For dinner you will have

Eleventh hour: Have another glass of the lemon drink.

Twelfth hour: Take the following

If there are any problems with bowel function or movement, take 1 or more capsules of the colon toning supplement and some of the fiber supplement with one of your drinks.  This will further enhance the liver cleansing.


Liver Cleanse for Weight Reduction:

Immediately after you awaken: Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into 10 oz of purified water, add a pinch of cayenne pepper, 2 teaspoons of natural Grade B syrup and 1 oz of the super antioxidant juice, and drink down.  (This will increase the blood flow for better digestion, which increases the glucose to the tissues and dislodges mucus from the membranes.)  With this lemon drink, take the following:

Second hour: Blend together

With this, take the following:

Third hour: Take the following:

Fourth hour: Mix together 10 oz purified water, half a lemon, a tablespoon of Grade B maple syrup and a pinch of cayenne pepper and drink.

Sixth hour: Have a glass of Vital Life Juice with:

Seventh hour — Lunch: Eat one of the salads or soups in the "Recipes for a Healthy Liver", adding 1 tablespoon of the liver clearing drink. Avoid meats and breads. Have a glass of the lemon drink.

Eighth hour: Have a glass of the Vital Life Juice with 1 tablespoon of the liver clearing drink added.

Ninth hour: Have 1 handful of trail mix with 10 oz of the lemon drink.

Tenth hour: Have 2 scoops of the protein power meal replacement in 10 oz of purified water, and 1/2 cup of peaches or apricots.

Eleventh hour: Have 10 oz of the lemon drink.

Twelfth hour: Have a glass of the Vital Life Juice with:

Thirteenth hour: Have a salad from "Recipes for a Healthy Liver".  Avoid meats and breads.

Fourteenth hour: Have 10 oz of purified water.

Fifteenth hour: Have a glass of Vital Life Juice.

Sixteenth hour: Have a serving of either watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, grapes or cherries.  Do not mix fruits.

Seventeenth hour: Have a 10 oz glass of the lemon drink with:

Follow this diet for 10-20 days, or 3 months for best results.

If there are any problems with bowel function or movement, add some of the fiber supplement to one of your drinks and take with the colon toning supplement.  This will further enhance the cleansing action of the liver.

Tips for cleansing and/or weight loss:

Any of the recipes in the "Recipes for a Healthy Liver" section of the Re-JUVA-nate Your Health booklet are helpful for cleansing the liver; but, if you continue with the juices and eat only the foods on the list, you'll not only cleanse, but have a phenomenal loss of excess weight.

For quicker weight loss, double or triple the fat-digesting enzyme blend — up to 6 capsules per day.

Anytime you're eating away from home, always eat a salad and add a tablespoon of the liver clearing drink to it.  This will greatly improve your digestion.  For other foods, add the liver clearing spice blend.  The liver clearing drink or the liver clearing spice blend should be part of every meal.
